The Springfield Symphony Orchestra's Annual Fundraiser - Wine, Dine & Antiques returns on January 31, 2009 at the Springfield Museum of Art, and will combine the symphony's traditional wine-tasting with antique appraisals and a live antique auction. Tickets to the event are $35 each presale/$40 at the door, including one verbal appraisal. The event will include wine and imported beers from The Wine Works, and food provided by Seasons Bistro and Grille.

The antique appraisals will be conducted by certified appraisers from Heart of Ohio Antique Center and Berner's Auction Gallery. Admission to the event will include one appraisal. Additional appraisals will cost $5 each. An exciting live auction of donated antiques will follow. Among the items auctioned that night will be an original glass work by glass maker/sculptor James Michael. The evening will also include a raffle for the Ultimate Wine Tour Package at the Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva on the Lake, Ohio, which will include a two-night stay.

We are asking you, as a supporter of the SSO, to donate an item(s) for the live auction. Securing items for the auction is essential to the success of this fundraiser. We are looking for a variety of antiques and collectibles that could include art, rugs, lamps, quilts, advertising, books, toys, jewelry (including costume jewelry), sterling, pottery or furniture. If you are wondering if an item is appropriate for donation, please call Marlies Hemmann at 390-2398.

Items for donation can be dropped-off anytime until January 16, 2009 at Heart of Ohio Antique Center, open daily from 10-6. If you are unable to deliver the items, we will be pleased to pick them up for you. You will receive a receipt for the appraised value of your donation, as well as a letter from the SSO acknowledging your donation for tax purposes.

Wine, Dine & Antiques – a wonderful and unique way to raise money for the symphony as well as providing a fun and exciting evening! If you need more information, please contact the symphony office at 325-8100.
