August 10, 2007 to August 10, 2007
Logos Christian Bookstore
Start Time: 7:00 PM
Cost:
Richard Carey, local probate judge, puts down the gavel (temporarily) and picks up the microphone with the release of his third Christian rock CD: “Crossin’ O’er the Jordan”, scheduled for release this summer. His band, “the Project”, will celebrate the release on Friday, August 10th, with a live concert sponsored by Logos Christian Bookstore. The public is invited to join the celebration, slated for the store’s front parking area from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, and an appetite, as the “Java House at the Meadows” restaurant will be offering some of their fine cuisine throughout the evening.
The band is comprised of a group of talented veterans. Jeff Sandow (bass), Doug Gibson (drums), Jeff Davis (organ), and Jacque Harenberg (sax) have been rocking crowds since the 1970s, with bands such as “Scram” and “NewMusic”. Pastor Jim Britton has been called the “dean” of guitar players. The band has become known for its powerful vocal section thanks to the voices of Troy Berry, Dan Carey—both of local theater lore— Sandy Cochran, Lisa Carey, and new vocalist, Carolyn Kearns. And Amanda Kincaid adds an unusual twist to the band with her haunting but lyrical violin riffs.
Logos Christian Bookstore will be offering the CDs for sale beginning on August 10th. Carey hopes to have a Web cite up and running for the band this fall.
