The Westcott House Foundation and The Now Device presents Design Studio

Free admission, limited to eight students



The Now Device in the partnership with The Westcott House Foundation will facilitate a three week design workshop for eight students who have demonstrated talent or interest in arts and design and who wish to explore the potential of multi-media.



The workshop will introduce students to the use of contemporary audio and visual media as a means of communicating ideas, expressing artistic themes and capturing and exploring emotional meaning.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House will serve as a source of inspiration. Students will explore, examine and consider the house on many different levels and create an original interpretive piece of art through combined venues of self-expression: music, literature, photography, film, etc. Elements of their work will be incorporated into a collaborative multi media performance in the fall of 2008 with The Now Device and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra’s production of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House: A Centennial Tribute. Upon a successful completion of the project, students will be invited to assist in the production of the performance.
