Start Time: Noon

Witness history come to life. Take advantage of a rare opportunity for the 21st century public to be a part of an ancient craft or just to observe a piece of our early history being preserved at a barn raising at the Hertzler House in George Rogers Clark Park. On July 7-21 the Timber Framers Guild will come to the Park to present a workshop on Timber Framing. The Guild will complete an actual barn raising July 21.

The original Hertzler Barn was demolished in 1951 leaving just a foundation and roof. The new raising will reconstruct the frame from a Montgomery County Barn, the same size and from the same time period , utilizing the original foundation. The public will be invited and encouraged to attend and some may possibly lend a hand. The barn raising is sponsored by the Clark County Park District and the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Call 937.882.6000 for additional information.

The timber framing workshop - July 7 - 21, noon to 6:00 p.m. fee is $250 and is limited to 20.
To register for this workshop the call 603.835.2077 or Email: susan@tfguild.org.
