EL RITMO DE LA VIDA - ”the rhythm of life” - is classical Spanish with a jazz flair, gorgeous Latino and American ballads, plus great movie music and popular gypsy jazz. Guitarist Gil Gutierrez and violinist Pedro Cartas are both virtuosos. Add the legendary Doc Severinsen and his soaring trumpet, and the experience is indescribably brilliant! Since moving to Mexico in 2006, Doc, best known as bandleader of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, made new discoveries in talented Mexican musicians Gil and Pedro. According to Doc, “Latino music, along with the blues, has always been among my favorites, and Gil and Pedro do it along with a European style that I love… and so do our audiences!” Presented in partnership with Clark State Performing Arts Center.
