With carefully crafted vocals and intricately woven instrumentation, The Association is a cornerstone of American pop culture. Formed in 1965, The Association began by playing nightclubs, coffeehouses, folk clubs, high schools, and colleges throughout California. Their popularity exploded as "Along Came Mary" and "Cherish," both from their first album, topped the charts. In 1967, The Assocation had the honor of opening the first international pop festival in America, The Monterey Pop Festival, and they appeared on every major television variety show of the time: Ed Sullivan, The Smothers Brothers, American Bandstand, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and many, many more. After parting ways in 1972, the group reunited for a cable TV reunion special in 1979 and began touring to every state in the Union, most Canadian provinces, and around the world. Hits such as "Windy" and "Cherish" have become standards, and their album, "The Association, Greatest Hits," continues to be one of the longest best-selling albums in the history of Warner Brothers' recording company. The bottom line is simple. They're looking and sounding better than ever! (Proceeds from the Circle of Friends Gala Fundraiser support activities for the at-risk youth of Project Jericho.)
