Thodos Dance Chicago is a critically acclaimed, highly innovative contemporary dance company with a vibrant, award-winning style. The Company performs on the national and international dance circuits, as well as in Chicago’s most prominent dance events. Thodos blends classical and modern dance with gymnastics to create a unique style of dance that is fast-paced, highly athletic and very entertaining. Many of the Company’s works make use of props such as balls, poles, hoops, chairs, multi-level platforms and even pool cues. The Company focuses on dance performance, dance education and the creation of new works. Local dancers from Springfield’s Gary Geis Dance Company (www.garygeisdance.org) will perform a new work on this concert choreographed by Melissa Thodos, Artistic Director of Thodos Dance Chicago.
