  • Regarded as South Africa’s cultural emissary and national treasure, Ladysmith Black Mambazo embodies ISICATHAMIYA (Is-Cot-A-Me-Ya) - the sounds and harmony of their traditional Zulu music and culture. These eight men and women first attracted worldwide attention when they were featured on Paul Simon’s “Graceland” album. Later they received the 1987 Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Recording for "Shaka Zulu" (their first U.S. album) and the 2005 Grammy for Best Traditional World Music Recording for the release of "Raise Your Spirit Higher." Mambazo has had quite an amazing 40 year journey recording with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban and Emmylou Harris, and performing at two Nobel Peace Prize Ceremonies, the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2002 celebration for Queen Elizabeth II's 50th Anniversary as Monarch. Join us for an outstanding and uplifting concert as Ladysmith Black Mambazo continues to spread their message of peace, love and harmony.
